Shri Nathji would often quote the words of Shri Babaji Maharaj:
“ Ek ek shwaansaa jaat hai
Tai triloki mool”
Every breath that escapes thee
Is worth the price of the three worlds
Shri Nathji further said: The word Aadmi in Urdu means man. It is a Persian word that has the meaning:
Aa + dami. ‘Aa’ means One and ‘dami’ means he who has breath. Thus the literal meaning of Aadmi is: he who has one breath! And truly that is all that man has. You cannot bring back the breaths that have gone, and you cannot force the breaths of the future to come. You have just that one breath before you which goes no sooner than it comes. What is Death? It is that last moment when the next breath does not come.
This moment before you is not an ordinary one, Shri Nathji would say, It is very important, for it comes after the passing away of many days, weeks, months and years! With so much behind it, the moment must be treated with respect, and not wasted! One must realise God–now! In this very moment!
