Shri Nathji was staying at the house of Shri G. P. Bhutt in Raipur in 1937. G. P. Bhutt wrote to his father asking him to come for Shri Nathji’s darshan. His father was in Jabalpur, and very ill at the time. He could not come himself, but sent his wife (Mr. Bhutt’s mother) and other relatives. Mr. Bhutt’s mother conveyed the message of her husband to Shri Nathji: Please stop by in our town when you return to Delhi.
And Shri Nathji said to her:Tell your husband I shall meet him in two months.
Exactly two months afterwards, Mr. Bhutt’s father died. Mrs. Gangabai Bhutt was present on the occasion. Mr. Bhutt’s mother said angrily: Meri bahu Gangabai ke Bhagwan jhoote nikale! The God of my daughter-in-law proved false. He had said my husband would be meeting him in two months. And today my husband lies dead!
The corpse of her husband was being prepared for the funeral procession. The moment she said these words, the corpse sat up, suddenly, and said: No! Do not call Shri Nathji false. He is God, incarnate! It was I who was false and did not go to him! But now that you have mentioned his name at this time, I know I shall go directly to swarg – heaven!
His astonished family gathered around him. Thank God, you are alive! they said.
He said, No! I just came back to tell you what I have said. My work is, otherwise, finished, and I am going!
And saying this, he fell back to the ground and became a corpse again!
