Mrs. Bhutt had given the portrait of Shri Nathji to the pujaari of a small temple in Jabalpur, to decorate its walls with. She had explained to him that it was the picture of the avatar of the age.
Later that evening, the man who owned the temple saw the portrait, and tore it off the wall in a fit of rage. Who believes in such idle talk! he said, I don’t want this photograph in the Temple. And saying this he threw the picture away.
That night he had a dream. The temple contained idols of Radha and Krishna. In the dream, he saw the idol of Radha come to life and walk out of the temple. The idol appeared before him and said: You have thrown away the picture of Shri Nathji! If he cannot stay in this temple, then neither can I.
The Seth awakened in a state of panic. The next morning he rushed over to the temple and discovered that, in place of the idol of Radha, there was a mound of earth.
