Shri Nathji was searching for a suitable matrimonial match for Priya Nath. Shakuntala Mehra had given an advertisement in the newspapers and people from a vast majority of backgrounds were bringing their daughters for Priya Nath. Shri Nathji met them all and blessed them. He blessed their daughters as well.
It was a measure of Shri Nathji’s blessings that all the girls who received blessings from Shri Nathji were married elsewhere soon, even though they were not found suitable for Priya Nath. This was another means that Shri Nathji chose to bless all the parents and their daughters and to help them find suitable matches elsewhere.
The main criterion that Priya Nath had was absolute and complete respect for Shri Nathji. There was a marriage proposal in which the uncle of the girl suddenly interrupted Shri Nathji as he was talking and said: “Let’s cut it short! We have come here to discuss the marriage proposal, not for a spiritual sermon.”
Priya Nath at once got up and said: “Then in that case there is no marriage proposal to discuss. I am cutting it short. Your proposal is unacceptable.” There were many parents who ruined the chances of their own girls by their brash behaviour. The valuable lesson that Priya Nath learned from this experience was that the people bringing their daughters were mostly worldly-minded and had little regard for spiritual values. Priya Nath was in no hurry to get married soon.
