Shri Nathji had often said:
“If there is a child, the father must first walk along with the child at the speed of the child. Later, when the child has grown up and can run, the father can make the child run along with him. In a like manner, God must come down to your level first and walk with you, so that later He can take you up to his own level and make you walk with Him.”
The main detractors at Harda were the persons whom Mrs. Bhutt had denounced as agnostics, naastiks, and whom she had prevented from entering the hall to get a glimpse of Shri Nathji. The ego of these persons had been deeply hurt and in, retaliation they had collected a large unruly mob.
The hostile group held a large convention in the open, denouncing the belief of the Bhutt family and condemning the notion of God in human form. Fierce winds blew in the sky, and very soon a hailstorm developed. The meeting was totally disrupted, the shamiana-tent blown off, and its convenors drenched in cold rain. The main speaker was suddenly stricken by a paralytic stroke on the stage itself. Mrs.Bhutt attributed this to be an act of God.
