Shri Nathji had at first considered placing the boys in a hostel at Allahabad University and then returning to Mussoorie, but the boys would not hear of it.
They knew of the absolute loneliness that Shri Nathji and Mateshwari would feel in Mussoorie in the large house. They also knew that Mateshwari was frequently ill and Shri Nathji had virtually no one to live with him at Mussoorie. They could not conceive of Shri Nathji and Mateshwari living all alone by themselves at Mussoorie in the house which all four of them had shared together for so many years.
And so they asked Shri Nathji and Mateshwari to stay at Allahabad till they completed their education. The boys could not do without the love of Shri Nathji and Mateshwari to which they had become accustomed all their lives, and before which everything else in the world appeared insipid. They could not think of a life without Shri Nathji and Mateshwari. And it was thus that Shri Nathji decided that he and Mateshwari would stay at Allahabad for the entire duration of the boys’ studies there.
