As Priya Nath writes the final arguments in the rent case, typing for hours on end, Shri Nathji lauds his efforts and says: “The remarkable work you have done in writing these arguments deserves a medal!”Priya Nath had never found any good lawyer who would take the entire responsibility of the case upon his shoulders. He found himself studying law books and writing down the facts and law, and thus in fact spoonfeeding the lawyers who took their full fees from him. This was true in Delhi as well as in Mussoorie. As soon as the lawyers became accustomed to Priya Nath doing all the work for them, they became careless and did very little work themelves.
