When Shri Nathji was in Lucknow, a 90 year old man-Vaishnav by name-would frequently come to visit Shri Nathji at Banarsi Bagh from Chowk. It was a long walk, but the 90 year old would come flying on the wings of the wind, as it were.
One day, Shri Nathji thought to himself: “This poor man has to come from such a long distance every day because I remember him. Today I must not think of him, so that he can remain at home!
But the man came all the same. He was so tired that he lay down in Shri Nathji’s house the moment he came.
“I can’t understand it,” he said,  every day I walk the same distance without the slightest bit of fatigue!  Today I can hardly move my limbs.
And Shri Nathji said: Everyday I used to send my horse to bring you here. Today, I had decided not to send it!
Indeed people could only come to Shri Nathji if it was the Divine Will that they were to get his darshan, or else if Shri Nathji wished it. If Shri Nathji did not want anyone to come, the person would never succeed in reaching him.
Either the desire to see Shri Nathji would not spring up in the person’s mind or else obstacles would come in his way.
