Pran Nath and Priya Nath, who had long been accustomed to the wide-open spaces at their large home, Savitri Nivas, at Mussoorie, were thoroughly enjoying their stay with the Bhutts at 40, Lodi Road.
It was a spacious bungalow with a large lawn, in which the boys could run around and play. It was quite a contrast from the earlier Bungalow of Shri Bhutt at 2, Pusa Road, which was close to a road intersection congested with traffic.
Since they could not step out of the house for fear of the unruly traffic outside, their only means of entertainment at 2, Pusa Road had been overturning the curved cane chairs of Bhutt and “driving” them like cars in a rocking movement on the ground, much to the chagrin of Mrs. Bhutt whose chairs would remain mis-shapen and flattened out thereafter.
