His devotion to Shri Nathji is revealed in a letter he wrote to Priya Nath in 1978:
In his own words:
How can I ever express the immense happiness I experienced through the blessings of Holy Guru Deva and the enchanting beauty of his inner as well as outer self? The difficulty is the same as had been expressed by Tulsidas in describing Lord Rama:
‘Giraa anain, nain bin vaani
The tongue has no eyes, and the eyes no voice!’
“It was a gracious day in 1959 when I had the first darshan of H. H. Bhola Nathji, through the help of Dr. Sinha of Allahabad.
“I vividly remember how my entire melancholy, stored up due to my beloved wife having left the world a few months before, evaporated after I had listened to the beautiful and affectionate narration of Gurudeva.
“I became a regular visitor to his discourses, and felt it was the only way for me to obtain happiness. I felt I was getting a new life. Not only his words, but his great affection and enchanting embrace were doing this miracle. After these 16 or 17 years I now clearly realise that Guru Deva was guiding me on the path towards the goal of life, i.e. Self-Realisation.
“A great wonder was that I never heard any harsh word for me or for anybody else from the mouth of venerable Guru Deva. Even when I strayed from the path, I discovered later that I had been lovingly looked after and that even in the interval of my straying, I had been progressing on the path of self-realisation.
“Another great feature was that respected Mateshwariji also began to shower on me her kindness even though I know I must have been proving a failure in my ability. Subsequently the two sons, Pran Nath and Priya Nath, came into association with me and I was so happy with their delightful and intelligent thoughts.
The people of Allahabad who heard of the miraculous change that had come over Shri Ramesh Chander marvelled at Shri Nathji’s divine powers to heal and uplift mankind.
Shri Ramesh Chander’s devotion was to remain constant over a period of twenty two years till the last days of his life. When he left the world in 1984, it was with the name of Shri Nathji on his lips, his heart and his soul. All relationships with Shri Nathji were enduring and eternal. Those who had faith in him retained this faith till the last days of their lives upon earth, and went with the same light of faith into the beyond.
